A Future Lost
Jenova was once a mortal female human in Mundus. She was of common birth, but as the Orcish Empire grew in strength, so too did she, as a warrior battling evil. But, even as a general of the human empire, she failed to muster enough troops to damage the army of evil beyond repair. It was on the night that Jenova set her wizards to request assistance from the neighboring empires that she found her greatest strength, and her burning hatred for all other races. Each empire was solid and unmoving on their answer.
No assistance would be sent, as they each prepared themselves for the inevitable growth of the Orcish Empire. At nightfall, the orcs mobilized on the capitol city and brought death in their wake. Jenova, digging deeply, found strength enough to sacrifice the lives of thousands to create a false front, capable of allowing her to kill the orc general.
Jenova was hailed a heroine of her time. Statues were erected in her name, and the other races showered her with gifts. She took the worship and waited patiently for the right moment to punish all those who had forsaken her people. It came to her as an invitation from the gods to join their ranks. She gladly accepted, and shortly after becoming a goddess she destroyed the empires for their selfishness.
The gods, after realizing what they had done, attempted to reason with Jenova, but unlike the other gods, she had no diametric god to oppose her. Having no other choice, the gods combined their strength, and threw her into nothingness, where even existence forgot of her.
It took a millennium for her to escape, but she did so through her supernatural willpower. Beckoning to mankind like Satan unbound, she masterminded a collection of cults in her name. The gods were powerless to stop her rebirth into existence, and she slaughtered them in vengeance. Shortly thereafter, she unbound Arcana from its shackles, and became goddess of all that lived.
